Winter arrived with a vengeance a few days early - the good thing was that the predicted below zero temperatures didn't materialize. It was snowing when I woke up on Wednesday and continued until Friday midday. We ended up with about 40 inches total. I didn't go in to work on Thursday or Friday. My body was aching from shoveling snow, and I didn't even go outside at all on Saturday. Got my Christmas cards written though :), and bake some bread. Also made my first batch of homemade laundry detergent.

It started snowing again yesterday (Sunday) and continued through the night. It was SUPPOSED to stop around noon, but it's still coming down...sigh.
Here are some photos taken on Thursday afternoon, when I still thought it was pretty and wasn't tired from shoveling.
The one at the very top is the road out to the cross street, "the way out". The next is from the front stoop and shows the driveway. Then a shot across the front yard - the neighbor's truck is under that mound of snow.

A couple shots of the back yard - the big mounds are lawn chairs.

That's the garden over there between the arbor and the shed - looks like I need to get the snow off that shed!

And finally, the other direction down the road, opposite direction of the very top photo - not really a way out.
