Keeping It Real

Kathie at Two Frog Home is posting at Not Dabbling In Normal today about Keeping It Real: "I think its important to remember that while many of us live our dream lives, it doesn’t mean that our lives are dream-like all the time." And she posted a photo of her 'messy' kitchen table - messy in quotes because it still looks fairly neat to me... Here's what my kitchen table looked like this weekend:

I don't have a lot of counter space so when I want to do some baking or canning or cooking that takes a bit of room, everything gets shuffled to the table in the dining area of the kitchen.

Plus, there are tomatoes

peppers

potatoes

and apples

stashed in various locations around the place with more potatoes, plus pumpkins & winter squash to be added...somewhere. I really miss the basement I had at my previous house. Last year, I used the garage for most of the winter but it wasn't suitable for the squashes. I've rearranged the garage & I swear, there's less storage room now! Go figure...

So, Kathie, my "dream life" is usually visible to me only, at first glance!
