Cantaloupe is fairly cheap this time of year, but I can't seem to finish a whole one without it going bad & ending up in the compost pile. So, I've been starting to freeze half of it when I cut it open & clean it. I use my melon ball gadget (because it's just so much fun) and scoop out as much as I can, make a single layer on waxed paper on a cookie sheet, & stick it in the freezer. After it's frozen, I put them into a ziplock bag & into the freezer.

As you can see, I'm not too particular about making them neat & pretty looking. The scrapings that are left behind are eaten soon - sometimes right away.
