I hardly know what to say, where to begin. I have discovered a wonderful community of like-minded humans out in Blogland. I have learned so much about so many things that are happening in the world, so much to help me achieve my goal of living a simple, frugal, responsible life. One of the most interesting, entertaining, informative and sometime just downright startling is Crunchy Chicken.
I was saddened early this week to read that she was taking a break from blogging for awhile due to the huge amount of stress in her personal life. Totally understandable. Her husband is very ill; she has 2 children, a full-time job, a household to run and a huge yard & garden to maintain - plus her Good for Girls project - no wonder she's burned out.
Well, lucky for us, she's back. But in the meantime, several bloggers have set up a blogsite (see above & in sidebar) and have written so eloquently how much she's meant to their lives: Green Bean Dreams, Chile Chews, Elements in Time, Fake Plastic Fish... What has she meant to me?
Reading her blog invigorates, encourages, and amuses me, but more importantly, it connects me to a community of people I didn't even know existed a few months ago. I don't comment much on her blog (read: not at all!
So, to honor Pollo Crujiente (thanks, Chile!), La Crunch, Her Crunchiness, a blogsite has been set up to raise money for her cause Good for Girls project. Instructions are on the blog for how to help, financially, 'craftily'/manually, and/or physically (for Seattle folks). Or just start reading her blog, & let her know that you're learning from her. She is one incredible, amazing, and 'rare' bird, our Crunchy Chicken.

Great post! You crack me up about not posting because she intimidates you. I laugh because I know how you feel. I used to never comment either for the same reason. It's so nice to have a true role model!
